Let’s get ready to rumble as GBE is bringing back old school style MTB racing.
Way back in the 80’s and early 90’s the MTB courses were longer, harder and had everything in the course. Water crossings, single track, fire roads, dust, mud, double track, long climbs, short steep climbs and some hike-a-bike sections, just to piss you off.
As racers, we would carry two to three water bottles, one with some Coke or Gatorade. Back then the courses were 15 to 20 miles long, or even longer. Now that we have water hydration packs you can go all day long!! Don’t plan on there being any aid stations out on this course. There is no outside help allowed out on the course in this event.
There will be a water station in the pit area for the Pro/Expert and sport class racers. So if your used to doing those little 4 to 6 mile smooth going, fast single track races, this event is not for you. This is REAL MTB racing !!!
