This world-class event returns again to its race venue at the historic Keyesville Mining Area for its NINETEENTH year in a row!!! Because of this long history, the Keyesville Race was granted “Classic” status in 1995 by the National Off-Road Bicycle Association becoming only one of 19 events nationwide to be awarded this prestigious title and named 21st out of 25 on the worlds best mountain bike race courses in 1996. Additionally, we were recognized in the Top Three races in the United States in 2000!

The estimated 500 racers expected to attend will be treated to the ever popular Snake Pit Downhill and the new for 2007, Short Track Race on Saturday. On Sunday, Cross Country racers will compete on the world-renowned Keyesville Cross-Country course. Dust off that old vintage bike, because there will be race classes for you. As always, there will be a prize-filled Kid’s Race for the young ones.

The DH and Short Track will be Saturday and the XC race is Sunday.

Race Details

This event has 3 races:
  • CROSS COUNTRY : This world-class event returns again to its race venue at the historic Keyesville Mining Area. The Keyesville cross country course continues to be a favorite among racers for the rolling green single track lined with pine and oak trees, and arduous hills like Pearl Harbor Drive to climb.

  • DOWNHILL : Starting at 9:00 am (first start) (racer’s meeting at 8:00) on Saturday, the estimated 500 racers expected to attend will be treated to the ever popular Snake Pit Downhill. Bring your rock handling skills for the eroded gorge full of rocks in the “Snake Pit” as well as your peddling legs for the wide open jeep trail at the bottom, and then jump as far as you dare off the last hill to the crowd of thrill seeking spectators and the finish line. There will be two runs combined to find the fastest, most consistent rider.

  • SHORT TRACK : This year the Keyesville introduces the Short Track Race. This is, as the name suggests, a short course, built for speed and action. The track is located near the staging area and is marked with pink ribbon. This is a great spectator event, tight & fast, elbows and dirt a flyin’. Each class will race for 15 minutes and then 3 more laps. This is one of the three elements of the “Stage Race”. It promisses to be an exciting race.
