Del Valle Regional Park is an alpine resort only 10 miles south of Livermore. The area is located deep in a valley framed by oak-covered hills, with a five mile lake that meanders through its center. The Del Valle XTERRA uses the lake, its various inlets, and rolling hills to create a diverse and challenging course. The rolling hills in the region make for quite a few climbing opportunities in both the mountain bike and trail running section. Be ready for trail running and mountain biking that intersects with the various stream crossings. Temperatures during this time of year can be on the hotter side, so getting a bit wet might be a welcomed surprise.
