The Bay Area Super Prestige Series has found venues on the Peninsula, San Francisco, even Santa Clara County back in 2006 at Hellyer Park – but this is our first trip packing up the trailers and heading for Alameda County – we’re opening the season at a great new race course in the Oakland Hills at Merritt College.
We think you’ll find this a challenging circuit – the course will have good passing room, enough technical twitches to satisfy most, a lovely deep loose dirt section that will masquerade as sand, 2 TRP barricade sections – and if you ever get the chance – an oustanding view of the Bay and San Francisco.
You’ll find dirt trails, some rocky patches, an homage to “Jungle ’cross” in a section where we’ve cut back almost all the overhanging branches, and special news to be released in the next couple of weeks – a figure 8 circuit. Our Start Zone is located 100 yards from the Finish Arch – look for the twin “Start” blades to set the Grid.
