Under a 5 year recreational special event use permit from the Tahoe NF, YBONC plans to introduce more trails for our events. This allows us to introduce the multi-use trails open to cycling, and promote share the trail with other trail users, and engage familes to the outdoors. “Thank You” to the Tahoe N.F. for approving permit and at the same time helping us to support our mission. Each year we plan to introduce a new trail to one of Nevada City Dirt Classic Race Series. Venues for 2013 as follows:
June 15-Race 1-Osborne Hill area, private trail system, and adjacent to Empire Mine State Park
June 29-Race 2- FS Pioneer/Hallelujah Trail, off HWY20 corridor, clockwise direction
July 27-Race 3- FS Pioneer/Hallelujah Trail, off HWY20 corridor, reverse direction of Race 2

Osborne Hill is known for it’s historic mining past which portion of Empire Mine SP and private lands both reside. With permission from private land owner, and his passion for the sport of cycling, has allowed to stage one of our race series here. Please respect posted signs for future events. Course map to be posted day of event at venue per request of land owner. Registration required prior to pre-riding course, registration opens at 8am.

Race 2 and 3 … A Little History on FS Pioneer/Hallelujah Trails …
This area is approved for recreational use as many other areas on the Tahoe N.F. Skillman area is known for it’s prehistoric finding and sawmill. Part of the Hallelujah Trail exists from an old canal ditch system in the 1860’s by the S.Yuba Canal Co., supplying water for hydraulic mining, and as the Towle Bros Narrow Gauge RR logging Co. was stimulated by the Central Pacific RR System. Thus the Hallelujah Trail was born. Pioneer Trail is known for it’s historical travel route to the Sacramento Valley for the Donner Party, etc.

Web registration is available. Opens on 2012-05-25.
