The 24 HRS OF DUATHLON is a 24 hour solo and team relay race, consisting of mountain biking and trail running over varied terrain. Teams of 1, 2 and 4 racers will compete simultaneously to accrue as many points as possible, beginning at 12:00 noon on Saturday August 22, 2015 and ending at 12:00 noon on Sunday August 23, 2015.

The rules are simple:

Only one person from a team can be competing on either course at a time. If a 4-person team has one team member on a course (running or biking), the other three team members can not be competing;
Each participant MUST complete at least one lap (either run or bike);
Each team MUST complete at least one bike lap and one run lap during each 12-hour period (12pm-12am and 12am-12pm). Teams are free to stragetize the order in which team members race, the number of running vs. biking laps to complete, when to sleep, eat, etc.;
All 2-person and 4-person teams must be coed- i.e., each team must have at least 1 male and 1 female member. (c’mon- everyone knows at least one male or female who runs!).

Duathlon

Cost: $168-$200
Course Description: The Hashawa Environmental Center has long been the “best kept secret” of local mountain bikers and trail runners. Nestled in Carrol County’s rolling hills, Hashawa offers miles of trails to choose from that include sweeping downhills, big climbs, fast fire roads and tight single-track… the perfect place for a great event.

While the specifics of the race course are still in development, here are the basics. The race venue will feature separate bike and run courses that will start and finish in the same area. The approximate length of each course will be 8 miles for the bike and 3 miles for the run and feature varied and challenging terrain.
