This world-class event returns again to its race venue at the historic Keyesville Mining Area for its TWENTY FIRST year in a row! Because of this long history, the race was granted “Classic” status in 1995 by the National Off-Road Bicycle Assoc. becoming only one of 19 events nationwide to be awarded this prestigious title and named 21st out of 25 on the world’s best mountain bike race courses in 1996. Additionally, we were recognized in the Top Three races in the United States in 2000! Bionicon Bicycles has teamed up with the Southern Sierra Fat Tire Association to promote and direct this year’s event with all proceeds being donated to local trail projects.
The events this year include the Keyesville Classic XC, Short Track, the Snake Pit and Dutch Flat Combined Time Downhill, Trials Competition and an entertaining kid’s race. The Bionicon All-Mountain Stage Race was a huge success last year and will be the spotlight of this year’s event; it challenges riders to compete in XC, DH and Short Track on exactly the same bike. Kern River Brewing Company has invited participants to come in on Friday evening and pick up their race packets, socialize, enjoy the good food and drinks.
