Course Description: tonewall is a fast swooping trail with small burst climbs intermittent throughout the trail to keep your heart rate up before you drop into insanely fast naturally burned corners with some technical rocks, off camber corners and natural doubles and stepdowns. The most notable characteristic of Stonewall though is it’s many switch backs that come at you at very high speeds causing you to control speed. Maintaining your overall run speed becomes more essential to a win than flat out nasty speed or robust courageous riding.

Once you cross over the fireroad the pros will descend into Rocky, an aptly named trail with little or no dirt anywhere to be seen. The lines on Rocky are there, you just have to be strong enough to stay in them…and losing speed in here can be devastating to a perfect run for sure. To sum it up, Rocky is technical but very fast and not a place where you want to make a mistake.

For the Cat2 and 3 riders you will stay on the fireroad to the finish but don’t think it’s a walk in the park. Line choice and a good tuck will save precious seconds before you hit the final left at speeds approaching 50mph! This is where we will have our “FLAT OUT NASTY SPEED TRAP” so keep it pinned! Just watch out for that last corner…it’s a doozie!
